  • You are responsible for all activity under your account.
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use or security breach.
  • Use of the Service requires compliance with applicable laws and these Terms.

Subscription and Payment Policy

Premium features are available via paid subscriptions processed securely by Stripe. Plan types may include free, monthly, and yearly tiers. Subscriptions auto‑renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. You authorize recurring charges until cancellation.

  • You may cancel at any time from your dashboard; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • You are responsible for cancelling before renewal to avoid additional charges.
  • Upgrades/downgrades may pro-rate per Stripe's rules.
  • Refunds are governed by our Refunds & Cancellations terms; see the section below for details.

Refunds and Cancellations Policy

We aim to make billing simple and transparent. The following terms govern refunds and cancellations for subscriptions purchased through our Service.

  • Stripe processing: All payments and eligible refunds are handled securely by Stripe, our payment processor.
  • Cancel anytime: You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account dashboard.
  • Access until period end: After cancellation, your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period. We do not provide partial refunds for unused time within a billing cycle.
  • No renewal refunds: Charges for automatic renewals are non‑refundable once a new billing period begins.
  • Billing errors: If you believe a charge was made in error or was accidental, contact us at support@placeholder.com. We will investigate and, if approved, issue a refund.
  • Account deletion: If you delete your account, any active subscription will be cancelled immediately. You will forfeit access to premium features and any remaining time in the current period.
  • Refund timing: Approved refunds are typically processed by Stripe within 5–10 business days. Actual posting times may vary by bank.
  • Digital services: Our products are digital services. Except where required by law or explicitly stated otherwise (e.g., an initial trial period), fees are non‑refundable once the service has been accessed or used beyond the trial.

Refund Eligibility

Refunds may be considered in limited cases, such as:

  • Duplicate charges or billing errors caused by our system or Stripe.
  • Unauthorized transactions verified through Stripe’s dispute resolution process.
  • Service failure or disruption lasting more than 72 hours that prevents access to premium features, where the cause is attributable to us.

Refunds may not be granted for:

  • Change of mind or lack of use after purchase.
  • User error or failure to cancel before renewal.
  • Account termination due to violation of our Terms of Service.

All refund requests must be submitted within 5 working days of the transaction date to be considered. Please contact support@[placeholder].com for refund requests.

Prohibited Uses

Do not abuse, disrupt, or interfere with the Service or other users. Prohibited activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Reverse engineering, decompiling, or otherwise attempting to derive source code or underlying models.
  • Exploiting vulnerabilities or bypassing security controls.
  • Unauthorized data scraping or harvesting beyond permitted API usage.
  • Uploading malware, spam, or content that infringes rights or violates laws.
  • Using the Service for illegal, harmful, or abusive activities.

User Content & Data

User‑generated content (e.g., notes, uploads, study data) remains your property. The Chrome extension stores your personal content locally and does not upload PDFs or notes to our servers. You are responsible for maintaining backups of your data.

Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the Service (including logos, UI design, AI systems, databases, and source code) are owned by Studious or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. No rights are granted except as expressly provided in these Terms. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or modify any part of the Service without our prior written consent.

Termination of Accounts

You may delete your account at any time. Deleting your account cancels any active subscription and permanently removes your user data from our database (subject to limited retention required by law).

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, pose security risks, or engage in abusive activity.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Studious will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or revenue arising from or related to your use of the Service, including interruptions, data loss, or issues caused by third‑party services (e.g., Stripe, Supabase, Google reCAPTCHA).

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Studious, its affiliates, and personnel from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms.

Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of [Your Country], without regard to conflict of law principles. You agree that any dispute will be brought exclusively in the courts of [Your Jurisdiction].
